weekly note #40 (2026)

·525 words·3 mins

gist #

I have not been consistent, I don’t know what to call it anymore it started off as ‘one of those days’ where I did not feel like posting for some weeks and then days went by and I kind of just forgot about it, I did have urge to write every now and then but I never acted or made time for it. I like writing when I do it but I also suffer from getting started, I just feel like the urge to write is not strong enough to quit making me do whatever I’m doing and make me write instead.

For the past few months I have swayed from any kind of goal that I had planned for the year and instead of recovering from that I went on downward spiral which eventual resulted in making me numb and be on autopilot, I just went with the flow and never stopped to think. Did my job at work, played a little bit. Enjoyed my time but at the back of my head I always knew that I have to do a lot of things I want to do which I’m not doing. It was a sad few months, is all.

Enough lamenting, I had my amazing moments as well. My friend from 8th grade got married and it was really different seeing someone you grew up with and had so many shenanigans with enter this next phase of his life, congratulations to both!

Soon after the wedding I decided to visit my cousins and uncles and it was a blast, I think I bonded the most than I ever have during this visit, they are all doing good and godspeed to them in anything that they pursue.

I got a chance to stay in Mumbai for 10 days in Fort and it was honestly one of the best times I had solo, I was there for work which excited me as the problems were real and I got to see real server rooms and really understand limitations of hardware when desiging a system at scale. Fort is one of the oldest areas of Mumbai, and the architecture reflected that, be it Flora Fountain, CST, Bombay High Court, all of them made me marvel at the antiquity and made me feel lucky to be able to walk among these beautiful pieces of architecture. Got introduced to Parsi cuisine from the owner of Ideal Corner, I got a chance to try some of the freshest prawns, crabs, bombil, thalis at various lunch homes. ‘Twas the highligh of the year so far.

what i read #

I put down An Immense World and finished Martyr! by Kaveh Akbar which I really liked and it had some really good ideas I reflected upon related to death mainly and identity too. I’m currently reading Surely You’re Joking, Mr. Feynman! and it has been so insipiring and it is one of the reasons that pushed me to get back and start writing again.
